It all began in 1984 at New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, Michigan on Mother’s Day when Pastor Jamal E Hudson gave his life to Christ. Attending church regularly in 1989, he started as a janitor for the church and also became the church bus driver until 1993. He accepted his calling as a Deacon in Training and served in that position until he accepted his calling as a minister in 1995 to study under the training of his pastor, Rev. Larry Smith. Elder Hudson, who had given evidence that God had called him into The Gospel Ministry, on June 2, 1996, was licensed to preach the Gospel and manifest the opportunity to exercise his gifts in the work of the Ministry of New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. There, Elder Jamal Hudson continued to serve as a licensed minister and as the pastoral armor bearer and Sunday School teacher. Upon the recommendation and request of New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, which had full and sufficient opportunity of judging his gifts, and after satisfactory examination by the Church in regard to his Christian experience, call to the ministry and views of Bible Doctrine; Minister Jamal Hudson on June 27, 1999 was solemnly and publicly set apart and ordained to the work of The Gospel Ministry by authority and order of the New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
In September of 1999, Elder Jamal Hudson started his studies at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary for Biblical Studies and officiated in the pulpit and became the Praise Team Leader for the Church. Later on, Elder Hudson was called to serve as Interim Youth Pastor for three years; during which time he guided the youth in Sunday School and Bible class, as well as having their own youth church services. Then later he became the Church Service Coordinator and continued in that capacity until the Lord moved his membership by letter to the Historic Motor City Baptist Church to serve in February, 2004 under Pastor Rev. Johnny Lowe. There, Elder Hudson served as Associate Minister, rebuilding the Sunday School, officiating from the pulpit, as well as working with the Praise Team. Elder Hudson, through the guidance of the Lord, as of February 2008, and by letter to Praise Temple Church, under the leadership of Bishop Anthony Johnson, Sr. Pastor, served in Pastorate Training.
In 2011 Victory in Christ Church, located in Southfield, MI, was birthed out of prayer. By the Lord’s leading, Pastor Hudson added the word “Church.” He prayed daily for about a year before God gave the name to include CHURCH, along with the scripture for it to build on.
1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God over-cometh the world: and this is the victory that over-cometh the world, even our faith.” Pastor Jamal E. Hudson will preach and teach people to make Jesus Christ their Savior, how to make Him Lord over every area of their lives and to live life victoriously by faith in the Word of God.
